Stop and Steep

Unlock the divine whispers that guide your soul and discover the intimate conversation awaiting you within the sacred pages of Scripture.

Our faith quenches a spiritual thirst through the Holy Spirit and intimate connection with God. Many struggle to understand this, but it begins with reading my Word. Not just reading, but highlighting your favorite verses, and not just highlighting, but soaking them in.

As you delve into your Bible, listen closely to my gentle voice speaking directly to your heart. Each verse becomes a conduit for my wisdom and love, drawing you into a deeper relationship and a greater experience of my character.

As soon as you come to a verse that captures your heart, don’t try to keep reading. Stop right there and jump into the verse like a tea bag into water. Steep by reading the verse slowly, just one word at a time or a few words at a time. Focus and listen, for God surely has something personal to say to you through his Word.

As you focus in this way, my Holy Spirit will inhabit the words and bring them to life. As you jump into Scripture like a bag into steaming water, you will realize your thirst for me. Scripture isn't like reading a book; my words are alive and get inside you, changing the essence of Who you are.

This method of reading my Word will satisfy that thirst and imprint Scripture within you for life.

Now, you’re not just reading your Bible; you are conversing personally with me.

"Let's practice the art of Bible meditation. ... Let us open our Bibles, spread them out on a chair and meditate on the Word of God. It will open itself to us, and the Spirit of God will come and brood over it. ... Put away the questions and answers and the filling in of blank lines ... and in faith say, "Father, here I am. Begin to touch me!" ~A.W. Tozer

God’s never too busy to hear your prayer

He Listens, Always There is no such thing as a small prayer in the eyes of God. No whispered need goes unnoticed, no quiet ache is ignored. Whether your words tumble out with tears or stay hidden beneath silence, the One who formed your heart is already listening.

In this voice-only reflection, you’re gently reminded that you never have to measure your worthiness before coming to Him. He hears the tiniest sigh and holds every request—spoken or unspoken—with deep compassion.

Let this message be a reminder: you are never interrupting Him. His door is always open. His heart is always turned toward you.

With love beyond measure,

God loves to say yes!

Image of delighted father giving a gift to his daughter who is thrilled. It has the text: Your heavenly Father loves to give good gifts to those who ask Him! (paraphrase of Matthew 7:11)

I hear you cry out to Me with your heart-wrenching need. I embrace your desperation. But you doubt My intentions and My desire to say yes. I am like any other parent—I love to say yes to anything you ask, and I will if I possibly can.

But do you think I sit behind a huge desk as a judge, preferring to refuse if I can? Do you think of Me as a divine slot machine? You insert your prayer like a token and cross your fingers, hoping upon hope that somehow I might agree and grant your request?

Do you say, “Your will, not mine, be done,” not as a surrender to My love, but with defeat—thinking I could not possibly want, with a father’s love, to give you your heart’s desire?

It’s not that you believe I can’t answer—it’s that you believe I won’t. Yet, just as a loving parent cannot give their child candy before dinner, I cannot say yes to what would bring hurt instead of blessing, or ultimately not be the best for you. My love does not hesitate to give, but it also knows when waiting—or even saying no—is the greater act of care. I never withhold lightly.

But, My child, you do not need to beg. You do not need to plead, bargain, or offer grand sacrifices. I am not waiting for you to prove your worth or to make promises you cannot keep. You do not need to offer Me your firstborn or vow a lifetime of service in desperation. All you need to do is ask.

I am a Father who longs to give good gifts, a Shepherd who listens to the cries of His flock. My love for you is not measured by how hard you struggle or how desperately you plead—it is already boundless, overflowing, eager to bless.

Pray to Me freely and boldly; believe I will say yes if I can. Don’t give up. Your prayers just might change the world.

With love beyond measure,

It's Easier to Guide a Sheep That's Moving

Illustration of a shepherd gently guiding a sheep, emphasizing movement and direction as part of decision-making and faith. The sheep represents individuals seeking guidance, while the shepherd symbolizes a supportive presence

Imagine a sheep lying on all fours, completely still. You can try pushing, poking, rolling it over, or even picking it up putting it on your shoulders, but it takes a lot of effort to get that sheep up and moving. Now, picture a sheep that’s already walking. A gentle nudge to the right or left is all it takes to guide it in the direction you want it to go.

In much the same way, when you're seeking direction for your life, it helps to take a baby step forward rather than waiting passively. Movement allows for guidance, one small nudge at a time, leading you toward the best path. This approach doesn’t require a grand or miraculous revelation—just a willingness to stand up and start moving.

For example, if you’re seeking clarity about finding a life partner, consider this:
