Hidden in the Cleft of His Wounds

Sunset seen from within a narrow rock opening.

I hid Moses in the cleft of the rock because he could not see My face (Exodus 33:20–22).

But you are hidden in the cleft of My wounds, completely surrounded by Me, because you can see My face.

When the world is too much…

When the pain is unbearable…

Escape into our love relationship — hide in the acceptance of My enveloping love and adoration.

Pour out your heart to Me, face to face, as a person speaks to his friend (Exodus 33:11; Psalm 62:8).

With love beyond measure,

Jesus

Freeing the Best Within

Open hanging birdcage with three feathers drifting away against a soft sky

You are created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:24). The truest part of you is beautiful. I am on a mission to dismantle anything in you that blocks that beauty within.

When Isaiah 45:2–3 speaks of breaking down gates of bronze and cutting through bars of iron to give you the treasures and secret riches within, it is pointing to the astonishing loveliness of your true self.

Like a treasure hidden deep in the earth, the most real part of you carries immeasurable value. Sometimes that part of you gets blocked by hurts, disappointments, or shortcomings—but none of that changes who you truly are.

Don’t look at your weaknesses and assume they define you.

When Selfishness is Good

Two small puppies with pink ribbons licking an ice cream cone held by a person

My beloved, I know your heart. I know that even your most generous acts often carry hidden longings—for approval, for purpose, for love. And I do not condemn you for this. I created you with desire. I shaped you to seek.

Even when you obey Me, there is still something in it for you—a sense of peace, a hope for reward, a longing to please. But do not be ashamed of this. What you call selfishness, I call hunger. It is part of the way I designed you to be. And I am not offended by your hunger when you bring it to Me.

When you gave your life to Me, I began the quiet work of reshaping your motives—not to erase your desires, but to redeem them. I mean for you to be motivated by, even greedy for, heavenly rewards. I do not ask you to stamp out your longing. I ask you to let Me increase it.

How to Change the World

Single water droplet falling into calm water, creating circular ripples

If you consistently do one small thing—just the next right thing—you might change the world.

I’m not asking you to take on something monumental. I’m simply inviting you to pay attention. You might notice the homeless man longing for a meal, the grieving mother carrying a silent loss, or the friend who needs a word of encouragement. Offer a nourishing lunch. Make a compassionate call. Sit beside someone who feels alone.

I’m not asking you to feed all the hungry children in Africa.

I’m asking you to do the next right thing.

The essence of the Christian life is really quite simple.

Do one thing—
the next right thing.
One … one … one …

and maybe you will change the world.

With love beyond measure,

Jesus

Carrying the Aroma of God's Heart

Cherry blossom branches with petals blowing in the wind

Oh beloved little one. When you abide in Me, you carry the fragrance of Christ. You exude My own sweet aroma (2 Corinthians 2:14–15).

Perfume has the power to stir emotions, awaken memories, and lift a person from where they stand. It draws people without effort. So it is with My captivating scent in you and around you—the very essence of Myself. It whispers to others of who I am.

Cyndi is a Christian writer with a heart for grace and freedom in Christ. Through fresh reflections and scripture‑rooted devotionals, she invites readers into rest and relationship. She longs for those who see themselves only as “sinners saved by grace” to know they are truly good in Christ, and for those who strive and battle, to hear that the fight is finished. Her writing is shaped by the promise from Isaiah 40:1–2 — God’s call to “Comfort, comfort My people with gentle, compassionate words. Speak tenderly from the heart to revive those in shame, and proclaim that their warfare is over. Their debt of sin is paid for, and they will not be treated as guilty. Prophesy to them that they have received from the hand of God twice as many blessings as all their sins” (paraphrase from TPT). She lives in Florida with her husband of 37 years and their dog, Smudge.
