Beloved one, ravaged by the world.
You don't see now how you can recover,
but you will.
The Good Samaritan is anointing your wounds with oil and wine.
My children often imagine themselves as the priest that passes by
or the Good Samaritan.
But what if you were the one who was attacked by thieves.
And what if I were the Good Samaritan,
filled with compassion.
Picture in your mind Me finding you —
broken, wounded, tossed and torn by life,
as I stop.
I notice.
And I clean and bandage your wounds,
nursing you back to wholeness and abundant life.
For in the story you thought you knew,
the shocking truth is
that I am the Good Samaritan,
and you are the one I refuse to leave behind.
With love beyond measure,
Jesus
