Take a moment to consider the beautiful qualities of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12). Allow them to deeply resonate within you, embracing them with open-heartedness. You may explore these virtues through engaging with Scripture, diving into an inspiring novel or film, or even observing someone whom you admire. Practice the art of focusing on one task, one quality, at a time, bringing mindfulness into your actions with a sense of freedom and faith. By doing so, you will effortlessly align yourself with what is right and good.
Building a life of integrity is akin to the graceful process of a hummingbird constructing her nest. The hummingbird does not anticipate in advance the creation of a magnificent miniature nest. Instead, she instinctively gathers an assortment of twigs, feathers, and other soft materials that are pleasing to her (the hummingbird's equivalent of attributes). She takes pleasure in mindfully assembling these pleasing elements, one at a time, with a sense of fulfillment. Similarly, for us, the delightful attributes of Colossians (above), serve as the foundation for cultivating character, integrity, and a life well-lived.
And then as if by magic, a beautiful, safe nest is created by God. And just like the hummingbird we do the "next right thing," and step out into a life of integrity.
Love,
P.S. Author's note: This blog is written in the voice of Christ. I feel this style of writing gives people a fresh perspective and greater sense of God's presence. Denying a duty-based faith, my goal is to free people up from condemnation and burdensome rules and present a perspective of the reader's freedom and God's unconditional love and acceptance. ~ Cyndi
